I was down in south florida for my last trip of the winter season and am always amazed by the incredible sunrises. Never like getting up at 4:30am but always a rewarding sight and every now and again a good fish. Topwater was the trick most mornings if we did not have high wind

Oh man...can the fishing be done walking - or too much? Any reccs on where to stay if making a trip?
The Green River is very fishable to waders. I do it all the time. I try to stay at Flaming Gorge Lodge frequently. You can Google it. I sometimes stay in Vernal, too. It is about an hour away. There are campgrounds. Feel free to message me if you have questions.

For all the fisherman here, where is "Downeaster Alexa" by Billy Joel in your top songs? Is it top 5?

Just picked up my fishing license yesterday. I'm not a serious fisher. I just love to throw the line out and catch a fish or two. Brings me back to when i was a kid and is really calming for me.

I like the song, but it is a different kind of fishing than what I do.

I spent the past two days chasing trout. On Friday, I threw streamers on a local reservoir that is a world class cutthroat trout fishery. Yesterday, I hiked into a canyon with a beautiful stream fed by springs. What a great time!

Before I became addicted to golf, I was very addicted to bass fishing. I still love to do it and still have $10348458495 in rods, reels and tackle, but I don't fish as much any more. I am planning to get a nice fishing kayak in the near future so that I can get out more and get on the water. Fishing from the bank is OK, but a lot of places you can't get to from the shore.

I like it how a lot of states do not require a fishing license for those over 65, some its free, others states its at a discounted rate. My state its free.

Got back yesterday from a 4 day trip on Vancouver Island. What an incredible and humbling experience.
I have only fished on the ocean once before and we were very selective where/what we did so my sea legs were very untested, however this trip put them in place.

We had 2.5 days of fishing in 28C weather which was unexpected and awesome. Beautiful blue skies when we expected grey and rain.
We caught salmon, lingcod, halibut, rock fish and put ourselves through a few trials and tribulations.

I learned how to crap in a 3ga bucket in the covered part of a Grady White in tossing seas, throw up over the side and sort of recover while catching fish and have the best time ever.

Highly recommend doing a guided tour to the west coast of Canada if you can!

A buddy of mine moved out to Denver many years ago. Once he started getting the lay of the land, he went to fish a trout stream up in the mountains. He hit a spot where he caught brookie after brookie! He hadn't familiarized himself completely with the regs, and being used to the size of fish he caught back in the day, he kept throwing them back. I understand C&R, but he wanted a few to take home, and didn't think they were big enough. Another fisherman came walking down the creek and asked how he was doing. He was unhooking yet another 9" Brookie and said that he was catching tons of these "dinks", and threw it back in the water! The other fisherman informed him that a Brookie that size was legal, delicous, and what the limit was! And that's when the bite just shut completely off!

Although not free, I do get a nicely reduced rate on my fishing and hunting licenses and deer and turkey tags. However, I also hunt in Pennsylvania, and they don't care if I'm a hundred! It's full non-resident rate for everything!

First time fishing for my three year old. No fish yet. Bass Lake, CA.

I am headed into grizzly bear country this week, going after Yellowstone cuts. It should be a fun adventure.
