Ireland's #1 export.

Today was Waterford and the crystal factory. Several golf trophies are made here.
Pics of the molds.

Shall be in Ireland first two weeks of August. First week golf with buds, 2nd week 8 couples but still 3 rounds of golf. Doing SW 1st and NW 2nd. First time the Mrs is coming. Took her 28 trips to finally say she had to go.

Was out to Old Head today and tried to get to the golf course. This is as far as I could get.

Entrance is through a medieval wall and tower.
Wind was a steady 20mph with rain but groups were playing. Guess you travel and pay, you play regardless.

Only hole I could get a pic of.

Only home I could get a pic of.
Staying there our last night with the guys. That hole pictured last tee box is out to right. Elevated blind tee shot but fairway is very wide. Par 5. Hole 12. Bud who passed and had made a couple trips over with me had in his will he wanted his ashes spead on 12 tee box. Following year we made a trip over with his 2 brothers and spread them.

Took the long way from Killarney to Galway today so I could visit here and dream.

Ugh.. beautiful photos. The envy is absolutely real

Only pic I could get of Lahinch today.
It looks more dramatic than Ballybunion.

I typically suggest that a SW Ireland trip should be your first trip over. A real nice group of courses and ton of fun. Lahinch sits on the North side of entry point of a SW excursion, so is typically the first round or possibly 2nd if Doonbeg in royayion too. Then rest your bones in Killarney for a few days and play Ballybunion, both, Tralee, Waterville, maybe Dooks and conclude with a round at Old Head. It's a toss up between Lahinch and Ballybunion as to the best. Old Head for the one who is inspired by visual appeal will shine brightest.

@Sarzar and I were going to play Beaufort Golf Club in Killarney but chose to rest instead that day.

Our days in Ireland were not golf related, though. We only played one course during our trip, RCD Annesley Links.

Ballybunion, old head and adare were lots of fun

I didn't get down the coast far enough for Doonbeg or Kilree. Anyone play those?

Have played both. Playing 1st round August at Doonbeg. Couldn't play Lahinch as member event all week. That was preferred but Doonbeg very nice too.
