What Golf Stuff Did You Do Today?

More swing drills

I played my usual Sunday morning 9.

Yesterday, traveling north on I-15 we stopped in Filmore Utah at the Paradise golf course.

Nice little 9 hole track, with a 36 par. Shot a 42 for my effort. Mile marker 163 iirc.

Didn't carry a water hazard which cost me. Actually I forgot it was there. Been a while since I played here.

I decided to go with my broom stick Rail Gun putter. My wife used my #1 gamer. Had fun with it, made a few, and missed a few. (18 putts) Greens were a little slower than Im use to.

My wife just putted. She had 25 putts . She would drop a ball at a point furthest from the pin, and start each hole from there.

I put a Nickent 9 wood in my bag for this trip. It replaced my 5i. Hit some decent approaches with it. For an old club, it still plays well. First time I've used it for a score.

Also added a 15th club in the bag. A 4 wood. Used it a couple of times. Never used a 4 wood before. Ì liked it.

The 90 minute round was a nice diversion before driving through the SLC area. Even on a Sunday traffic is not friendly on that 40+ mile stretch of interstate.

We are on our way to Ontario Oregon to visit family. I'll probably play 9 holes at the Wieser, Idaho course tomorrow.

On the way back home we'll take a different route. There's a 9 hole course in Wells, NV that's a fun stop. 27 holes in 5 days is no big deal.

Played 18 on Saturday and watched RBC while THPing Sunday

Played 18 before 10am.

Went to the range, but they closed it to mow. Spent a lot of time at the chipping green instead - very much needed!

Played 9 holes in Wells, NV earlier today shot a 42, with 16 putts.

Today it was D, 4w, wedges, and my two putters. There was a 9w in there somewbere. I kept switching back and forth between the broom stick, and 32" putters. Today's greens were the slowest I've played on in years.

This completes my road trip golf. 9 holes at 3 different courses, in 3 different states Average 4.72 strokes per hole I think. This is from the senior tees, with no hdcp figured in.

Had fun, and learned a few things about new to me 4, and 9 woods.

I'll be at my home course tomorrow.

Began my journey of getting back into golf shape after only playing a handful of rounds in the past year. Did some Orange Whip training and hit about 50 balls into a net with gap wedge.

Range time today- alignment, new swing thoughts, and then a whole lot of THPing.

Putting drills then swing work

Cleaned my clubs.

Small bucket of balls and then some chipping and putting. PGASS on the way home.

Today, nothing. Yesterday I was hitting wiffle balls with my sons and it devolved into trying to hit one another with the balls and then trying to hit the flying balls like a baseball.

Following along with the Vokey experience thread!

Just some easy pitches, and chips, with putts. Focus was green reads for all three.

After that it was hitting 50 yard shots off the 4 uneven lies. Focus being on aim, and club selections. This is one of my favorite practice routines. I don't know about others, but even when in the fairways, I seldom have a level lie.

The short game area wasn't busy today. I think its getting too warm for some to be out in the direct sun.

Lots of chipping practice.. the data has shown that I need work on chipping and bunker shots

Had a lesson this morning and then drilled the lesson for about 20–30 minutes after.

30 minutes of chipping practice before work!27 Pines Practice Green.jpg

Went to the range for about an hour. Atrocious ball striking continues. So came home and texted an instructor I had lessons with about 8 years ago and booked a lesson with him on Thursday.

Late to post. busy.

40/40 = 80 on Sunday. I was off on ball striking. It is rare that I am short on approach shots, but that was my day. Back was good and sore, and that might be part of it. One of the foursome brought his two daughters (4 and 7). Lots of distractions in our group that day.

THP'd --- I mean worked with some THP, and then league tonight.

Went to my local 9-hole course this afternoon after work with my son - they have a practice bunker at their range and so we got a bucket of balls and I introduced him to the concept of moving a ball from sand to a green. Wanted to get some practice in before we get on the course....

After that spent an hour on the practice putting green with the Jailbird AI Cruiser looking to dial in my distance on longer putts. Man I love this putter.

Planning to play 18 on a nice links par 3 tomorrow (morning off work) as we build up to him making his debut on a big boys course now that the continuous rain appears to have abated and we are almost off temporary tees and we have reasonably dry fairways.

Picked up my reshafted wedges this morning.
