What are you reading?

I'm at the bookstore now. I can't decide between The Big Miss or one of Tucker Max's books. Hmmmm. Suggestions?

May i suggest Plum Island by Nelson Demille to any avid readers of a good book!!!

Tommy's Honor, The story of Old and Young Tom Morris

Love his books.. When i start reading them I want to keep reading more of his but I have to read other authors in between so I can appreciate how good his books are!

Now that Hunger Games and Catching Fire have been completed, it's time to start Mockingjay

A lot of people say its the worst of the trilogy, but I really liked it. Good read.

I've heard that as well. Though I wasn't all that crazy about Catching Fire. But damnit not I need to see how it all ends.

I felt that after Hunger games the series got progressively weaker. Authors sometimes just need to leave it at one book. Not every author id JRR Tolkein and able to produce good series.

Mom just bought the Game of thrones books, the first 4, on the Kindle. Guess what I am doing tonight.

Let me know how you like them. I was thinking of reading them.

Have any of you read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series (currently 7 in the series).
Gabaldon is a meticulous researcher, so while the story is fictional the history is dead on.

Outlander, the 1st in the series, begins in the '40s, just after the war. A British woman (a nurse in the war) re-connecting with her husband (an intelligence officer) after many years apart. They meet up in Scotland.

This and that happen and one day out in the heather they come upon some standing stones (like Stonehenge)... The wife is walking amidst the stones and hears humming and touches one of the stones.

Zip, bang, boom... She comes to in the same place but it's different - and her husband isn't there. Suddenly out of the woods comes a red-coated British officer and soon followed by a bunch of kilted highlanders.

More this and that (no spoilers) and she comes to find out she's landed in the 1720s.

The journey begins...

I read them all - twice. Very smart, very witty and just a great adventure. It's got war, humor, romance and just that touch of paranormal to keep it interesting.

Agreed. He is great. I read all of his books cant recommend them highly enough.

American Triumverate. It's about Nelson, Hogan and Snead. Not sure what to think about Hogan. You gotta love the determination and tenacity, but man he could be prickly. Nelson sounds like an amazing person. Snead was a true golfer's golfer, if that makes any sense. Probably would've be fun to play some rounds with that guy.

I know this is the what are YOU reading , but my wife just read the 50 shades of grey in one day. Apparently it was really good. She said it was totally a chick book tho. She started on the second this morning. From what I have heard it is considered "mommy porn". Hopefully some of it cascades over, but not all of it. I read one page and I am not sure I really want to know what a riding crop tastes like.

:) one never knows unless one tries

It's not that I wouldn't try to taste a riding crop, it is just that it would be kinda hard to get it past the leather mask. The zipper got stuck last time so it won't open now. Guess I need to order a new one.

Be very careful with the zippers...
