UST Mamiya DART V TSPX Iron Shafts

IMG_1377.jpeg

Got to debut these today! Cannot wait to get out more and a range session with them… they feel so smooth but not “loose”whip feel that you can get from graphite sometimes!

They are definitely slightly higher launch than the TT DG x100 I was in before but it’s not obnoxiously high that I can’t handle it. Today was a tough day to tell if my distances are effected at all with the amount of wind that was happening

I reshafted my Edison 2.0 wedges today with these. The 90 F3 in my 49* and two 105 Wedge shafts in my 54 and 59. They’ll get butt trimmed and gripped tomorrow and put into play in league match play tomorrow late afternoon. Details to follow.

For those that went from steel to graphite what are some pros and cons you have seen?

My elbow, shoulder, and wrist no longer feel like they want to kill me.

Overall stability of these shafts compared to others is unmatched. Cons-price.

Had some nice shots with the wedges today. Great feel, very stable.

I have only played 9 Holes with them so far but the 120X in the Dart V's vs the TT DG X100... the Darts feel heavy but are 10g lighter.(it surprised me when I picked them up for the first time but I feel the where the head is at better.. the darts feel stable and smooth. The more obvious observation was that they don't hurt the joints as bad. I see some say the price.. and that is a con... as the Darts are about 30-40$ more a shaft compared to the TT DG.

So happy I went with the Dart V shafts. Loved what I saw at the range today.

Dart V wedge shafts have a different feel than the 120F4. You can definitely notice the difference. The tip section feels a lot more active. If you swing a wedge 100% primarily, use the standard iron shaft. If you only hit wedges 3/4 or less, Dart V wedge shaft for sure!

Man, I’ve been putting absolute darts out with these iron shafts. I’ve even stuck a few greens within 6’ or so of the hole with a 7i at about 175 yds! Now that my swing is coming back around, these have been fantastic!

Had a ton of compliments on my irons today. These will provide me the stability I need to find success.

Feel like I may need to swap these for whatever iron I go with. I want to to 5-GW though instead of 4-PW so not sure how I could do it.

Dart V's in King Tours is one of my top ideas right now for MC irons. I'd probably go with 90 F4's. Not too many graphite shafts that would work with the KT's.

I think it’s time to get a TSPX Lin-Q driver since these have been so outstanding in my irons!

That is a good call!

The Dart V shafts were a really good fit for me. I feel my timing is much better and the feel is outstanding with them.

Gonna hit the range again this week and really try to start get meshed with these new clubs. Dart V does give me the confidence that if I swing hard, it will hang in there with me. It's a reassuring feeling.

Got a few swings in with @MarMill 's set. Felt even more solid that the recoil 110s I played prior. I think they were 105 but didn't feel too crazy light.

This is where I would go if I went graphite. Likely going to happen if I don't pull the trigger on a OL set

120g stiff

I think that would be the play for you.

If we ever cross paths, you are welcome to try mine.

Been reading through on peoples thoughts of these and I think I’m gonna have to give them a whirl. Feel like I’ll really dig them coming from KBS TGI

I think you’d get along with them very well. Another ponder would be the 120F4 soft stepped if you liked the 105 flight or even the 105F4 with the swing weight you like.

You should do it

Great range session today. Dart V shafts are worth the investment. A big difference from the old recoils, Protos, and Dart shafts. Feel is solid without being unresponsive. Stability is where these shine. You can tell the difference in stability with these versus other graphite shafts. I’m getting a medium trajectory with these, which is what I was looking for.

The tip section with the M40X material is what really helps with stability on these. It also gives it a great feel as well. These are a ridiculously stable!
