Just saw this come through the wire. SuperStroke has acquired Lamkin.

Wixom, MI – SuperStroke, the No. 1 Putter Grip in golf and the leader in innovative Tour-proven golf grip technology, proudly announces the purchase of Lamkin Grips, a top manufacturer of premium golf club grips with a 100-year heritage of innovation and quality.
“It is with pride and great gratitude that we announce Lamkin, a golf club grip brand with a 100-year history of breakthrough design and trusted products, is now a part of the SuperStroke brand,” says SuperStroke CEO Dean Dingman. “We have always had the utmost respect for how the Lamkin family has put the needs and benefits of the golfer first in their grip designs. If there is a grip company that is most aligned with SuperStroke’s commitment to uncompromised research, design, and development to put the most useful performance tools in the hands of golfers, Lamkin has been that brand. It is an honor to bring Lamkin’s wealth of product innovation into the SuperStroke family.”
Founded in 1925 when founder Elver B. Lamkin began manufacturing golf's first leather grips, the family-owned-and-operated Lamkin Grips has maintained a reputation for providing the industry's widest assortment of performance-enhancing golf grips. The acquisition of Lamkin grows and diversifies SuperStroke’s proven and popular array of grip offerings with technology grounded in providing golfers optimal feel and performance through cutting-edge design and use of materials, surface texture and shape. Longtime owner and CEO Bob Lamkin will continue to serve as a board member and will remain involved in the company.
SuperStroke’s putter grip line is a product of relentless innovation, fueled by feedback from more than 600 tour pros. From signature shapes and sizes to the latest materials, SuperStroke delivers unprecedented features into every putter grip while connecting golfer and putter like no other product on the market. Similarly, SuperStroke’s golf club grip line is the product of tireless design and the finest, most comfortable, responsive, and durable materials on the market. Expanding grip offerings with Lamkin’s assemblage of expertly designed products marks the start of a bold new chapter for SuperStroke.
“SuperStroke has become one of the most proven, well-operated, and pioneering brands in golf grips and we could not be more confident that the Lamkin legacy, brand, and technology is in the best of hands to continue to innovate and lead under the guidance of Dean Dingman and his remarkably capable team,” said Bob Lamkin.

It will be really interesting to see what effects that has on some things.

Huh. I didn't know that this was a thing.

Wow - I am also someone who would have thought any purchase would be the other way around, assuming Lamkin was larger and had more assets than SuperStroke.

Ohhhh this is interesting.

Not sure how I feel about this.

I’m confused in a way I mean lamkin was an affordable great brand, not saying that golf pride isn’t but something was special about a new lamkin. Superstoke is nice also but can be on the higher side for a budget golfer so to speak.

I play Lamkin on all of my clubs from driver through putter. I hope they don’t change anything with them

That’s surprising. I like SuperStroke grips, haven’t been a fan of Lamkin since they discontinued the original Crossline Tour

Wow that is a big move!

Hopefully the Lamkin products keep coming out, because they are fantastic! Happy I have 3 of my favorite putter grips stocked up.

Very interesting, but I had no idea Superstroke is based in Michigan. I'm assuming if the press release came out of Wixom, they are probably headquartered there. Might have to support them even more going forward if they are a Michigan-based company.

First, thanks for putting in work while casually sitting at 4 under in the Bag Boy @ddec

Second- wow didn't see that coming. Hopefully this is a good thing...

Yea they are

This one is a bit of a shock

Well, crud. Lampkin is my favorite b a mile, the one OEM I’m most loyal too. I really hope nothing changes with their product line

This has me thinking I need to get a bunch of Sinkfit pistol grips as I only use that on my gamers. The worry is how long can they be stored before the rubber starts to deteriorate?

Purchases like this are to gain market share and technologies. Having been someone who tried Superstroke full swing grips this make sense because the Superstroke full swing grips were terrible. I cannot imagine them changing anything to Lamkin because of it history and success

This is probably a good thing. Super stroke iron grips are pretty bad..

Well, that got an out loud "holy ****" from me.
