WorldWide Golf Goes Off Course

Good listen/watch
Well done as usual @Canadan

Enjoyed it- and candidly wasn't aware that the WWG umbrella was as vast as it was. Cool Clubs/Global Golf etc so thanks for the education on where they are at and where they are going. Good job @Canadan

Love the video option. Diving in now.

Great job @Canadan and @redlineshifter ! I am glad Scott was given the opportunity to pass on the information we all received at the WWGC last week. I am still in amazement at all the companies under the WWG umbrella.

Got a little time to watch image.jpg

already in the queue on Spotify for this afternoon!

Interesting. Good to hear some Cool Clubs info and glad the Loyalty rollout got mentioned at the end. That'll be something to pay attention to.

just peeling back the layers hahaha

It's pretty wild.

@redlineshifter has a great guy and WWG has some phenomenal things on the way that’ll change the game.

But not sure about the lack of THP experience hangover. Right now I’m thinking about that taco truck this time last week.

The loyalty program sounds pretty legit!!

Also liked the little Montana shout out in the beginning lol

Got to listen to this while driving.
I’m lucky enough to have a WwG nearby.
He’s so right about how much of golf shopping is a tactile experience and the experience is every bit as much important as the purchase.

Finally got a chance to watch it all. Thanks for adding it to YouTube!

Amazed at how many companies and options are under the WorldWide umbrella

Look forward to hearing more about their loyalties program!

Great show @Canadan 👍🏼

I listen to this on my way down and another fantastic episode @Canadan one thing I don’t understand from a business perspective is why is there a different naming convention throughout the country? Having so many brands under one umbrella company, and then the subsidiaries having the subtext of worldwide golf. Is there a reason for that?

Also thought the segment with the preowned golf clubs and breaking into that space was very interesting.

Just saw this question and thought I would give some feedback:

- The names of the brick and mortar stores are all tied to regional, legacy brands that have been in those areas for DECADES. You spend all of those years fostering those local relationships and becoming part of the community there, it's a difficult choice to rebrand completely. I can't recall exactly what Scott said on the podcast, but I know there are discussions of rebranding OR saying something like Roger Dunn Golf by Worldwide Golf. There does need to be some sort of cohesion and that's what Scott Perry is working on, but slowly. he's already made a ton of progress over the last year but this needs to be handled really thoughtfully.

- Part of the reason for having so many brands in generally is twofold; 1. An opportunity presented itself to make an acquisition, and the business reasons pointed to a yes. 2. Our brand portfolio now literally covers every aspect of golf retail and we can feasibly service every single type of golfer. We have all new inline with premium experience (WG) localized regional B&M stores, the nations largest used club and off price retailer (Global Golf + Mike's Golf Outlet) premium fashion apparel (Fairway Styles) and high end, high tech custom fitting (Cool Clubs). There is literally nothing we can't do at this point.

Hope that helps but I'm happy to add more color if you like.

Which store?

Great show @Canadan and @redlineshifter
That ongoing chipping contest on Friday Night the WWG Championship was insane. Is there anything more fun than chipping under Cellphone Flashlights?

Looking forward to see the Loyalty Program and Cool Clubs in the stores.
Spent some time on the Cool Clubs YouTube Channel and their use of the S3 system is understated.
When I went there and got a tour, and really got to understand S3, to me it is truly the most brand agnostic, comprehensive shaft fitting tool available. To truly do your own 3rd party testing on every shaft including OEM stock shafts and be able to utilize that data is really valuable and worth the money to the avid golfer. There is a video that BustaJack did where he gets fit by Jack at Cool Clubs (who is an amazing guy with a really cool background) that I think shows how beneficial their system can be.

Not sure if I can link it but you can find it easily.

Cranston, Rhode Island. Just a bunch of people that enjoy golf.
Very cool. Those Golfers' Warehouse stores are great. I think that one has been there for close to 40 years.

Fun fact, Mike Blair, who's son now runs Mike's Golf Outlet (another member of the WG family) in Hartford, founded the Golfers' Warehouse.

That makes total sense! It still has a “family business” feel to it. Really comfortable to walk in there.
