Univeristy of Houston has a pretty sweet list of golfers that played there.

Jim Mclean
Butch Harmon
Nick Faldo
Steve Elkington
Marty Fleckman
Freddy Couples
Bruce Lietzke
Fuzzy Zoeller

to name a few

i know OSU has some good ones recently but not sure of their history. Anyone got some others to list?

I don't have a list of players, but Oklahoma State is generally regarded as the top college golf program in the nation due to their incredibly strong history. Others high up on the list include University of Texas, University of Florida, Stanford and UCLA.

OSU did produce Jack Nicklaus. Stanford has Tiger. ASU has Phil.

University of Texas has:

Ben Crenshaw
Tom Kite
Justin Leonard
Jhonattan Vegas
Jordan Spieth

On the women's side, Arizona produced Annika and Lorena Ochoa.

Oklahoma State, like you mentioned:

Bo Van Pelt
Scott Verplank
Peter Uihlein
Bob Tway
Hunter Mahan
Michael Bradley
Ricky Fowler
Charles Howell III

Plus a few other not so notable guys.

This is only based on 2011 current players, but here's the break-down of which college alumi made the most money on tour. The caveat is that there had to be at least two golfers that made the Top 200 on the money list for the school to be listed, or else in 2011, Northwestern would have been #8 just on Luke Donald's performance:

Stanford has Tom Watson, don't forget him!

I was just going off the top of my head.

Stanford wins. Houston doesn't hold a candle.

That's an awesome list. And it's another reason Clemson > South Carolina. #6 isn't too shabby.

But that's slightly offset by producing Michelle Wie, isn't it? :beat-up:

Michelle never played golf for Stanford though. She went to classes there and played professional golf. And she graduated!

Ah...... true enough.

Her just being a student there brings the rep of the golf team down.

Where would Vanderbilt fall in this ranking due to Brandt Snedeker's earnings?

Where would Vanderbilt fall in this ranking due to Brandt Snedeker's earnings?

I don't know, sit and figure out what his 2011 earnings were, taking out any money earned outside of PGA Tour events, and place him in the graph.

OSU produced jack. Enough said

Michelle never played golf for Stanford though. She went to classes there and played professional golf. And she graduated!

So you're saying she wasn't good enough to make the golf team?

She turned pro at age 15. She was ineligible to play college golf.
