The Cruise Thread

I've done a couple of Royal Caribbeans from Miami and a Norwegian from Boston to Bermuda.

I liked the first one best; then they got too casual and I missed the fun of the formality which was a nice contrast to normal proletarian life.

Mostly, the cruises were just a change of pace from the usual Vegas trips, though. The latter was always my cup of tea.

We have a cruise booked for February to the Panama Canal with Norweigan that is still on.
I have been paying a little every month, that has stopped. Final payment isn’t due until October. That should give me time to decide how things will shake out.
I will say that when we were on our cruise in early March, we never felt in “Danger” or even at “Risk”. Felt like the cruise line did everything to keep our health protected.

So if anyone is incline to "Roll the Dice", the cruise lines are offering 30% discounts for cruise in 2023 (We should be over this by then, I hope) with incredible cheap airfares and drink packages (Beer/Wine) included.

I just booked a cruise out of Singapore for 2023 and the round trip airfare from Chicago to Singapore was $1,000 for two people.
And the deposit requirements are really low along with cancellation policies that are "COVID" Friendly.

Just came back from a 7-day cruise from Cape Canaveral to Bahamas, St. Thomas, San Juan PR and Dominican Republic.
Great Trip - 85* and Sunny every day.
Was given a Liquor Package as an incentive to cruise, so that was nice.

Good to be back cruising again. No COVID Testing and no VAX requirements.
Cruise was like it was back in 2019.

Thinking about Disney cruise out of Miami this summer for the daughter's Golden birthday.

Never cruised, always been intrigued but I also have a really random/irrational fear of a balcony room & falling.

Cruise looking at is 5 nights, out of miami to grand cayman and castaway cay (providing the government gives me a green card extension letter to be able to leave & come home).

Funny this thread popped up.
Friday I start a 15 day cruise through the Panama Canal.

Fly to LA on Friday and two weeks later home from Miami. This is our 3rd attempt at this cruise. Last 2 were cancelled because of Covid

Hope you enjoy it. Disney does a lot of things right on their cruise line. We happen to be taking one in March out of Canaveral. This will be our second one. Wife’s aunt wanted us to go with her.

We have a Disney cruise scheduled in May.

I'm currently on a 10 day on Royal Caribbean Serenade. Of the Seas. Sitting on my balcony in Cartagena, Columbia answering this thread.
I’m there in two weeks. I’ve read that Cartagena is really nice

I really want to go on a cruise sometime. still something I think about often.

Funny this popped up, my family and I were talking about this today after watching a docu-ad on how the Disney Wish was built. Thinking of doing something for new years which I think takes a Disney cruise out of the possibilities due to price.

Same

We are heading out of a 8 day / 7 night cruise on Royal Caribbean in March. I think a certain someone went on the same boat and I may need to pick his brain about it.

It’s almost 6k difference between balcony rooms on an excellent class Norwegian and the Disney options. Normally I would consider it, but we have a Europe trip in August.

Despite my families’ popular belief, I am not made of money. Like most chocolate Easter Bunny treats, I am only made of a money shell, and hollow on the inside.

We love cruising as a family. Only 259 days until our next one! Haha

We head out on a cruise next Sunday! I need to pick @JasonFinleyCG since I believe he went on the same ship.

If you get a chance to go through the Panama Canal, do it! It’s amazing
