Morgan Cup 2.0 - Is Official

I get to play a round with one of the members of Team THP (Smallville) this weekend. Should be some fun and I'm hoping to get some good video that we can put up here.

I would take that Callaway XF hybrid set or the Cleveland Mashie hybrid set all day long in MC 2.0.

I will handle TC in MC 2.0. Only stipulation is that he plays Bridgestone. :D

I have to agree with this!!

Nothing wrong with GI Irons. I think half the field used them in the last MC.

Whew - good. With all the lobby for entry because of low handicaps and I was worried that I wouldn't be welcome. There are some serious single digit handicap golfers here. I just wouldn't want to let anybody down by shooting an 88.

We have said that only handicap rules entry info is that a golfer must be an 18 or better to qualify.

Lobby for me! I mean Im not decent by any stretch, but Id like to play too guys. Plus, Ill actually take TC down. My game has changed all too much since the last time I played him, and JB. Im a completely different golfer now! Bring it..
All I've got to say is this.....

Boy - I don't know if I could handle this MC2.0. There are going to be some serious golfers there. I would do everything I could not to embarrass myself with GI irons and a 5 hybrid.

There were plenty of GI irons at MC 1.0. I think Yoccos carried a 5 hybrid as well. If you ask JB, I should have had one too:alien:

I was the only one to carry a 5 hybrid. In fact, if you look at all the iron choices.... DDec and I were the only ones who played GI irons on the Callaway side. Kinda funny too because I thought more would. I think you could put those that chose the R11's there too it just depends on how you look at them.

Noone cares what you shoot, as long as you're trying. I usually shoot high 80's and I ended up losing to OEM on the last hole of our epic match. I think we tied at that point even in stroke play. I wasn't in the high 80's and if I remember correctly it was 95.

Good post. Nobody cares what you shoot or what style of clubs you play( as far as SGI,GI, or GE). Each sponsor seems to have a club that can be geared towards anyone who is 18 hdcp or better. Whatever you have in the bag will be top notch.

The MC is about so much more than a score for one particular round, do not fear "letting people down" that will certainly not be the case at all. If selected, represent your sponsor and THP professionally and be involved and all should be fine.

I was going to Yoccos. Until I spoke with many people in the business that said the RXT's were just as forgiving as the RX. So, why not give it a shot right. Hell....OEM had them til the order was messed up and then he switched to the RXT's...he even said they were just as forgiving.

Really? I thought it was about free clubs and a staff bag. :alien:

I dont even know what my scores were in my rounds. We were just playing hole by hole. Hell, there were holes people picked up so there wasnt a score recorded.

The MC is about so much more than just the competition IMO. It encompasses what THP is all about. If you can make the handicap cutoff, you are welcome. The only way to disappoint is to not do your part. Everybody understands that we are all at different levels. In all honesty, could I compete with TC, JB or Jake? Not at the moment, but everybody understands that and nobody expects a 13 handicap to take down a low single digit without getting strokes, but there will be somebody else there that is around the same level as me that I can compete with who will mess up just like me. It is not about how good you are, it is about how good you can compete against your direct competition during the day, but after it is over, there is merriment because we are all friends in the end.

No doubt man. I was set on the RXT's at first and still want them lol. Just talking with my fitter there were some differences and the difference in forgiveness was pretty minimal, even for my misses. I wouldn't quite call the RXT's GI irons, at least imo. My thought process for choosing irons this time will be a bit different though.
