Shout out to @Parrot for this idea.

IF you can find them, what were the lofts of your first irons, and of course in include the year, brand, and model!

What I could find on the interwebs

Bought them used about 10 years later, used them once, then sold them in a yard sale to pay for softball gear.

Closest I could find.

2000 was the year.......I had a set before this but theres no way i could ever find the right lofts.
so we will go with this. When I was on the HS Golf team.

I also still have them. Sitting in a box.....in my garage.

Taylormade M4s off the shelf 2nd hand from Golftown. Set also included a 4iron which does not seem to be std, so whoever had them first must had added it.
I got them in 2018 IIRC

they were Spalding blades (80s?) , so I'd say pretty comparable number-for-loft compared to modern blades

Just for giggles, here are my current Zx7 Mkii specs

sheesh.. I don't know that I could find them.. First set was a set of Prima III irons. 1995 I think is when I bought them. If I had to guess. I would say the PW was in the 48 degree area then go up from there.

Mine from the other thread:

My next set were the 712 AP1s:

You’re so Prima. 😜

Def look like it, and there were what, 1,384,832 Eye 2 knockoffs over the years? Hahaha

Them and 845’s, SO many clones.
Soooo many.. lol

I went back to look at lofts from one of my first sets, Adams Idea Black CB3, here are the lofts from 2012
5i-26* | 6i-29* | 7i-33* | 8i-37* | 9i-41* | PW-45* | GW-49* |

5i-24* | 6i-27* | 7i-31* | 8i-35* | 9i-40* | PW-45* | GW-50* |

Paradym Smoke AI - Current set
5i-22* | 6i-25* | 7i-28* | 8i-32* | 9i-37* | PW-42* | AW-46* |

I have yet to play a round with the Paradym Smoke irons so the increase in loft has me curious because I know exactly what to pull from me playing the 921's for a long time.

The first irons I purchased were in the mid 80s. They were St. Andrews irons (Las Vegas Golf and Tennis house brand). I have no idea as to the lofts.

My first irons were purchased for me at a flea market by my grandfather, Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge, 3-PW, with wrapped leather grips

Tommy Armour 845's.....like basically anyone born between 1975 and 1985

I think they were 21 degree 3 iron and 47 degree PW if i recall.

AND IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I ACKNOWLEDGE A STRONGER LOFTED PW IS NOT A "JACKED LOFT". I AM SO MAD ABOUT THIS!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
