I'm not sure, but I think I may have picked the wrong shaft. I had been using DG SL R300 shafts in my old Taylormade RAC LT Irons and was hitting my 6 Iron around 160m. When I bought my new Taylormade MC Irons, I got them made with the PX 6.0 shafts (as when I did a fitting session a while ago). Now I'm only hitting my 6 irons around ...145m, and it all seems to be just like too much hard work. I can pull the distance out if all goes well, but it's a lot more like hitting at 110% rather than a more preferable 95% swing.
I think it may be my fault by selecting the wrong stiffness (and perhaps shaft type, as I do prefer a lower trajectory), but my swing speed means that I need to use an X Flex Driver Shaft (when I did a fitting session), so I'd have thought that 6.0 should be okay. Ever since I upgraded to the R11 Driver and Fairway Wood, I'm hitting my Woods further than ever, but my irons shorter than usual. This has opened up a big gap of distance range between my 4 Wood and my 3 Iron which I'm not enjoying at all.
Can I get a bit of feedback and advice?
