I go to Lake Arlington on the regular and it's a great course. That is true, sometimes very slow pace.
They just cram people in between tee times somethings.
I've always enjoyed that course.

That’s one of the few tracks in DFW that I’ve never got a chance to play yet…

Love the Bridges, but you know it's close for me. Generally when i go it's a weekday so i can use my Military and Senior Discounts. Wish i could have taken off one morning to go this time, But i am already taking off part of next week to work the PGA Championship at the New PGA Courses
I’ll be back sometime and we can all plan ahead.

Let's play it one of these days!

nor have I
Holes 11, 12, 13, 14 will make or break your round at Lake Arlington. 14 is a 240ish yard par 3 from the tips, with a elevation drop of about 200+ feet.

Depending on the wind and how hard the ground is, I've hit a range between a 1w/3w to 7i...lol. Par is a great score on that hole!

Hard to believe I’ve never played Lake Arlington. I grew up in Arlington - a product of C.C. Duff Elementary! I was just reviewing info on the course. It’s on the 2024 must play list now.

Not far from Lake Arlington is Meadowbrook that is currently undergoing a major renovation.

NOTE: there are 2 Meadowbrook courses. I am talking about the Fort Worth course....do not get it confused with the Arlington "Meadowbrook" course.

Renovations were MUCH needed for the Fort Worth course and from what I've seen and read it will be a complete re-route, similar to what they did with Rockwood. I think they are still 9-12+ months away from being finished.

As for the other "Meadowbrook" course in Arlington...play it at your own risk, both from being hit by stray golf shots (poorly designed track) and a physical safety standpoint (bad area of town).

What a small world! I live in Arlington and a bunch of my buddies went to Duff. I attended Swift. Along with @mantan , we need to play this course

If you have an open spot, I'd join you guys. Played Lake Arlington alot when I lived over that way, over in Keller now so I make it over there 1-2 times a month now.

For sure!

Played Sky Creek Ranch yesterday. Lots of hazards that really make you think about club selection. It was in very nice shape. I was surprised the greens were as hard and fast as they were given how much rain we’ve had. Very fun, but tough course, especially when breaking in new irons. I was pulling everything except driver, which made it even tougher. I’d like to play it again once I’m more familiar with the new sticks.

It's a tight track and used to be even tighter before they removed a couple hundred trees...which helped conditions and pace of play.

I live 10 mins from it but rarely play there due to the crowded tee sheet. I like the course tho, definitely a good layout.

Played Bridlewood yesterday. Course is in nice shape and pace was better than expected. We finished 18 in just over 4 hours and that was with a minor dispute at the turn when the bartender didn’t want to honor our free beer. (Our receipts clearly stated “with beer” but he argued that it meant 1/2 off. Good grief. He ultimately blamed the pro shop for ringing it up incorrectly.) Greens were fast and true. Weather stayed cloudy and cooler than expected, with a nice breeze. Humidity was high, but with the clouds and breeze, it wasn’t a factor.

Play Bear Creek at twilight today. I was worried the perfect weather was going to mean the end of twilight.

I was wrong. Hooked up with another dude and we played through 12 holes and under two hours.

They were still another hour of daylight, but I needed to get home a little early.

The one good thing about the rain is the courses of all green up nicely. The rough at bear Creek is ridiculously thick though.

Played Lake Arlington this past Saturday. It was soaked from the prior night's rain and it drizzled a couple times...but the course held up nicely. Couple puddles, but expected. Greens were smooth and rolled quicker than expected with the damp conditions. Rough is super deep, so don't stray off the fairways too much.

Pace of play is my only gripe on the weekends. Don't want this to sound wrong, but if you shoot 120+ you might not want to take the 715am tee time on Saturday morning when its CPO too..... They let us play thru on hole 4, but only because they left a club on hole 3. Seems common out here on the weekends.

Played Firewheel champion/masters combo last weekend and that place was in good shape. Fairly decent pace of play too roughly 4ish hours.

Steven’s park is in incredible shape right now too

Do you use the website to book Stevens? No matter which day I view, it always says no tee times available. I haven’t called the clubhouse yet.

Called the proshop. It’s insanely busy right now

Called and got a Friday tee time. After I booked, I asked about the website and was told that they had stopped posting tee times there. I don’t know why they don’t just put a message on the site telling people to call. I probably skipped over SP 4-5 times thinking they were full.

Thanks for the tip!

Glad you were able to get a tee time!

Let's play a round at some point!

I really want to get back out to Stevens. Have only played it once or twice.

@Triple Lindy - we are in same neck of woods. I am over in Wellington, right behind the Tom Thumb on 1171.

I am 3 minutes from Bridlewood. My son works on the range
