Not sure how it works in Florida, but in Texas the local appraisal district appraises your property each year and you can protest the amount to lower your property tax bill.

I protest them every single freaking year. It is such a frustrating process. I hired a company (Gill, Denson & Company) last year for the first time. They did well, but I am just curious who else folks are using. Thanks!
