Midwest Golf Get Together THP Style

Gee tc, I don't remember that post!?!? :D

If they have a grill handy I could sure put some great bacon wraped filets out though. You can bring the baked beans and potato salad, hehe.

don't forget the sweet tea!

Is that a new kind of beer?? If not, what's it doing at a cookout??? :confused2: :D

Good point Fourputt. Besides, someone has to support those beer cart girls :D

Food for me is always a game time decision, but there are tons of Steak joints in Omaha, all depends on what you are in the mood for and where you are staying.. If you are staying at the Casino area, I would recommend Billions in the Horseshoe Casino or Bourbon's at the Ameristar Casino.

Now downtown you have the "Old Market Area" that has plenty of places to eat and drink, like Omaha Prime. (Old Market Omaha s Arts and Entertainment District)

Now since I live on the Western side of Omaha, I prefer Lazlo's, Johnny's Italian Steakhouse, or even Firebirds. (these are closer to Quarry Oaks/Iron Horse).

I would say start with where everyone is staying and work it from there.

Hey everyone- today marks 2 months til go time for the NE Golf Outing THP style. We really need a more catchy name. We'll work on that!

Duey, we locking in on some courses yet? I know Quarry Oaks sounds like the front runner, have we decided on Iron Horse and the other? I would put my stamp of approval on that lineup without ANY hesitation, two outstanding golf courses with great staff and great deals to make this outing a success.

Count down continues boys and girls....2 months and counting!

I think were pretty well set up with Quarry Oaks. They were to call if a big group tried to still the day, but not looking that way so far. I can call and check again tomorrow. They won't let us book it untill one month ahead without 20 players. I can also call Iron horse and make sure this is done as far as possible.

Beyond that I have the stripers lined up, clowns on the 18th hole and a Rhino talking about joining us, hehe.

Hey JB, what would shipping cost be for us to borrow your swing machine :D?

It would be $3300. The cost of the unit...hehe

Hey, worth a try, lol. I once borrowed a speed radar gun for a bass tournament. We had a blast and never once thought about all the liability, :clapp: Those boats were flyin

Ok its beginning to look like I will be able to make it. Can you give me a run down of the dates and itenerary again. I need to start putting aside funds.

Ok, I recalled and checked with Quarry Oaks and he still has us penciled in for May 25th, start time of 8 AM. 18 holes will cost like $64.90 and for those of us going back out after lunch, the total would be $89.90, (Only $25 more for second 18). This includes cart and unlimited range balls I believe.

Without 20 commited golfers we can't secure the course until one month prior, however if some other group wants that day he will call me and give me the chance to book it at the 20 golfer rate, (which would be pretty expensive if we don't have that many).

As far as other activities, lunch or dinners, etc. Hey, lets start the banter and do what everyone want's to do. I am trying to secure a place for Wednesday and am calling Iron Horse again right now.

Let's hear what everyone wants. I'll be leaving for a little bit, but back to check the board after while.

Quarry Oaks day I'm definitely in for the replay! Iron Horse also has a replay rate as well so I'd be up for 36 holes each day. Personally I wouldn't mind going to get some Hooters wings for supper Quarry Oaks day, I will most likely have to head out on Wednesday following golf to get back home with the family, I have a ton of golf trips/b-day party trips to Vegas....you name it so in order to keep peace around my pad I should only be gone 1 night if possible.

That is all subject to change of course, I have a free place to stay with my good pal Fwsngrns (Dano) so there isn't really a concern there. We'll see.

I hope everyones ready for some golf THP Style! I just got off the phone with Brian at About Iron Horse Golf Club and we are all set up for some sun and fun!!! I had to go ahead and book the round with my credit card, so I set us up for 15 players. With that said, I need a pretty good idea of who all will be able to make it so I can add or subtract to this number.

The dates once again are May 25th at Quarry Oaks and May 26th at About Iron Horse Golf Club. We are set up for an early tee time at Quarry Oaks, 8AM, to take advantage of the "Replay" for those who want to do it all again in the afternoon for only $25 more. Wednesday our tee time is set up for 10:15AM. (They have a group going out at in the afternoon, so couldn't get a "Replay" set up.

Both of these courses are said to be first rate, beautiful courses. $64.90/$89 for Quarry Oaks depending on the replay and $49 for 18 holes at Iron Horse.

This is open to all of you out there in THP land! If your new on the board, what a better way to meet some of the great folks you hear about on the board. Omaha has great courses, shopping, casino's, restaurants and most anything your looking for. If interested, just post on here or send me a pm and we'll get this all together.

Let the fun begin! Duey

Duey,

I thought we were buddies and all but thanks for picking up my round. I owe you a beer next time I see you. Count me in for both days.

I am glad that I don't have all that pressure to set this up. That is definately worth a couple of drinks and if everyone feels the same, due will be drinking for free those two days!

While that sounds like fun :D it's absolutely not necessary. There's been no pressure at all, in fact just the opposite. Have enjoyed doing it. I hope a lot of people can come and partake in the fun. :clapp:

I believe I also have my dad talked in, to playing with us. Now that all depends on how his physical level is seeing, he had shoulder surgery over the winter and has been having back issues. He might be good for 18 but I am not for sure if he can make 36. Getting old is a b***h or at least he says.

Still planning on it.... for sure one round each day. :golf2:

Good deal Sodak, bring him along. If he's up to it then great, we can work everything out. Tell me about the getting old :D

It's in Omaha. It's called Eppley Airfield (OMA). Otherwise you have one in Lincoln or you might be able to fly into Kansas City International (KCI)and catch a ride up with one of the guys. Sometimes there is up to a $400 difference between Omaha and KCI.

But don't freak out, but Kansas City International's initials are MCI! It's original name was Mid-Continent International.
