Do you crimp your iron shafts?

Used to be pretty much standard, but I haven’t bothered.

Nope. As long as the shaft and hosel are prepped and cleaned properly theirs no need to.
 
Ole dimpled shafts. Not been necessary for a long time with how epoxies have gotten better.
 
Does crimp mean using a pin inserted sideways through the hostel and shaft?

Nah, for a time they would use a dimple tool that didn't really crimp the shaft, rather it put a dimple on both sides. Theory was it would help keep the shafts from breaking loose/failing.
