Broken Hand/Wrist :angry:

I'm not looking for sympathy just sharing. I'm afraid I've strained/fractured/ or broken my wrist. I'm a extremely bummed and disappointed. I hurt it playing in my uncles baseball league. every year he harasses me to play and I always eventually give in and this time it has finally cost me. I was playing shortstop and got a late jump on a ball hit up the middle and made a diving attempt at it. I missed but my right hand got caught up underneath my body. I immediately knew I hurt it I walked around clutching it for a while and had to leave the game. it happened on sunday and my hand is the size of a balloon. I haven't touched a club since it happened. actually I've messed around with some new wedges I got some one hand swings but nothing really. I'm disappointed in myself as I've known to quit playing for years now. I went and got x-rays yesterday at an diagnostic professionals imaging center and the results were sent to a specialist for analysis. I'm waiting for the results playing no golf no chipping or putting and I'm pissed at myself. u'll probably see me posting a lot more for the next week or so. I'll try to attach a pic of my hand.

Hand and wrist injuries are the pits. My wife broke her wrist back in October. She now has a plate, and seven screws holding everything together. She has probably 60% use of the hand, which is still in the healing stages. Best prognosis is 85%-95% usage after full term healing. If it's any consolation, your hand does not look near as bad as her's did which she broke it.

Every time I hurt my hand, the first thing I do is make a golf grip to make sure I can still play. Sorry you are on injured reserve for a while.

That's the truth, last time I stepped on a baseball diamond I ended up with a separated shoulder! I haven't played since then and don't have any desire to.

bummer! i trashed my right wrist in a motorcycle accident. it set my golf swing back, i'm sure you don't want to hear this but it's the truth, for a good year. fortunately it's your right one and not your left one. if your left wrist was broken, as a righty, it would wreak havoc on your swing.

thanks for all the well wishes. I'm concernced because the swelling wasn't gone down at all. my hand looks fake. it looks like Chubbs (?) hand from Happy Gilmore but a slighlty lighter pigment. I have been icing it about 4 times a day. lol smallville I had a copy of the x-rays sent to my dr. golf partner buddy I'll see if I can get a copy and get them up. provisional plates and scres sounds terrible mine isn't that urgent or I would have known. sorry for your wife's pain. I'll update as I go. I'm playing golf friday or saturday (maybe).

If you can play golf Saturday or Sunday with the hand in the picture, all I can say is "YOU ARE THE MAN". Heal up fast.
