I have a fairway wood in which I have a couple strips of lead tape that seems to be stuck on there pretty well. Since I have recently changed the shaft to a lighter weight shaft, I would like to remove the lead tape or else the swing weight is too heavy. However, when I tried, it just chips off in tiny pieces, so it would seem to take forever to get this off. Any tips ? Thanks !

Never messed with this but could you not heat it up where is softens the adhesion and then peel it off?

Try a little heat with a heat gun.

Heat gun tends to work, just be careful you don't get too close to the hosel or the shaft. You could use a small knife to get up under the tape so long as you're careful not to scratch the crown and then just rip the tape off.

Yup heat it a bit, don't go bare handed at it though, remember it is lead lol

I've put the club in a vice and used a flat screw driver and a light hammer before.
