Depends, if a tourney I run it down in front of the green and try to get it up and down. If gambling I try to hit a cut running 6 iron somewhere on the green.

Pro V1 here. I like the feel off of every club. Nice trajectory, control on approaches and around the green. I just know what it is going to do when I decide what shot I am hitting. Alternative ball none, I like to stick with what I know.
Yes, as far as fitting. That way you know that your clubs are fit to your swing, transition, AOA ect. Not getting fit to me is like going deer hunting with a rifle that is zeroed for someone else. The outcome is just not as good as it could be.
My irons have KBS Tour 90 stiff. Wedges I went KBS Tour 115 regular. This is the best move I have ever made in my short game. From 100 yds to green side shots it has really helped with my distance control and accuracy.
