New Groove Sharpner i need big HELP, Por Favor

GUYS I AM NEW TO THE FORUM'S AND PLAN ON STAYING AROUND CAUSE THIS HAS ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE AND GREAT INFORMATION.

Problem

I just got a new groove sharpner, and was going to try to sharpen my wedges which are Titleist Vokey, along with my iron set. Mizuno MP 60's.


The groove sharpner has the V shaped groove, and a U shaped.

HOw can i tell what shape my grooves are? A website, or something, any help would be tremendous.

If they are the latest Vokey wedges they are V shaped most likely.

If they were any of the last few years, they are going to have U grooves.

Go to the manufacturers website and they should tell you there. Pretty sure vokeys are u shaped.

One is an older model maybe 2-3 years old. Other is 2009 model.

Will it affect if you use a different shape than what it calls for? I would assume so, hahaha, just curious

You should be good. Go with the U side.

I only used my sharpener on my oil can Vokeys, I didn't need to worry about removing the chrome finish. I will never use one of these on my MP-60s....just my .02 worth.

thanks for posting guys.

I just figured my MP 60's needed a nice face lift and tighten up those grooves alittle bit.

I guess maybe i shouldn't??????

Any suggestions

Not unless want to remove the finish and expose the face to the softer metal that lies underneath....
