I have another name I like to use for Helmuth, but I don't want to offend anybody.:act-up:

He DEF is a brat AND a whiny baby (to put it kindly haa haa)

Now back to CSI...

I thought her brother was Phil Helmuth? :confused2:

The issue on the Celebrity Apprentice where she got mad and started yelling at Natalie was that they were on opposite teams and it was for a charity thing, but Natalie had called Phil (so I was assuming it was Phil Helmuth, sounded like it too, hmm...anyways) to see if he would donate money for her team, and then Annie found out and started going BALLISTIC at her and yelled and the whole thing...poor thing :( I think Natalie was fired that episode...

I remember that episode, I think the issue was that Duke and Helmuth are friends and run in the same circle. IIRC Phil was the one who called Annie and told her that Natalie had called him to get a donation.
The only thing that I really remember about that show was that Joan Rivers is a lunatic and Annie Duke always plays to win, whatever it takes.:D

That's the one!!! I don't know why I had thought they were brother and sister

What else would anyone expect? I'd think that Annie Duke would be a perfect candidate for a cutthroat show like that. She's a professional poker player... and as anyone who plays knows, there are no friends at a poker table. You may be best buds elsewhere, but sit down at the table and the gloves come off. :terror:

As far as CSI goes, I'll try to remember to watch. I used to watch religiously, but when William Peterson left, I kind of lost interest.

I didn't know Annie Duke and "The Poker Brat" are brother and sister!!! :confused2:

They are right. Howard is her bro. Helmuth is very entertaining to me and I love to watch him lose. I watched him play a cash game and the cash pros were making fun of him and he was taking it.

I am definitely going to have to watch this episode of CSI. I like that show anyway and now it got cooler.

My wife went to high school with Helmuth's wife. I met him at a wedding about 20 years ago before he was Phil Helmuth.

I believe I said, "So your wife knows the bride?"

He said, "Yep. Yours, too?"

I said, "Yep."

It was epic. I'm surprised he doesn't talk about it in interviews. He seemed pretty impressed at the time.

I'd laugh if I had a clue who any of these people were.

You have to be into poker. They are all professional players, seen on the World Series of Poker, The World Poker Tour, etc.

No interest. Gambling makes my skin crawl.

i have the risk taker gene. most of the time it's really quite fun. and the other times....meh.

i quit watching CSI but i may check this one out. duffy waldorf is intriguing.

I envy those who can take risks. I went sky diving once that was the biggest risk I have ever taken. Normally I just think everything to death before I make a decision.

Duffy is hilarious and a really nice guy. His wife and her business partner make great hats for ladies the company is called Gogie Girl. That's how we were fortune enough to meet him, super nice guy and the man knows his wine.

the man knows his wine.

He has a wine column every month in either Golf or Golf Digest (sorry, I get both and I'm not awake enough yet to check to see which one.)

Must be Golf Magazine since I remember seeing that. Only time I see GD is in a waiting room.

Moved this one to Random & Off Topic section.

Yup, he is their wine guy. He has his own label too, they did a wine tasting at the Gogie Girl booth last year, I wonder if they will do it again this year?

No interest. Gambling makes my skin crawl.

But poker isn't gambling (not like roulette or slots or any of the casino card games) if you understand the game. Now and then you may gamble on a hand when the circumstances are right, but if you play smart, play the odds, observe your opponents, and most of all have patience, it is more of a science. Most casual players either don't understand the mathematics of the game, or they lack the patience necessary to keep the odds in their favor.

Putting money on an outcome is gambling. It might not be all on chance as in the case of slots, but gambling nonetheless. You can get out of a hand and avoid losing more money but if you don't you're betting you have a better hand or can out-think the other players (bluff if you will). You can have all the strategy in the world but you still are betting that you get the right cards to win that hand. In other words, gambling.
