I saw an ad for this outfit in some oddball golf magazine, and thought (note: opinion! not libel) it sounded like some escort service for very strange golf outings. Then I went to the website. I'm really weirded out. I mean, I know you don't earn a lot of money on the lower rungs of the LPGA, but this?? http://www.playgolfdesigns.com/professionals.html

(This thread doesn't belong in Golf For Women, but it beats me where it belongs. At least it involves women allegedly playing golf.)

hehe, that is kind of strange. what is it? do you just pay to hang out/play golf with these women or what? i see Amber from BB Michigan, Tina Miller, etc

Are you sure this isn't a mail order bride site?

we saw amber's boyfriend/fiance at the Nike Tent at the outdoor Demo day at the PGA show. He was all decked out in Nike gear, we couldn't figure out what his position was there. That is a strange website.

I heard part of an interview with the founder on a Podcast last week, and I couldn't listen to it. Dunno why, but the concept creeped me out a bit.

However, on reflection, is this all that much different from people shelling out a few thousand to play in a Pro-Am with a PGA pro?

After a little research about the company what I surmise is that it's not to be used as a one on one rental service of of LPGA players. Moreover it's a company that sets up a large scale golf vacations and tournaments for big cooperations in need of "entertaining" or attracting clients. Having the players there seems to be part of the draw or allure. I'm not saying they wouldn't send out someone for one on one time but it does not look like the intended use. Heck I could be wrong and I hope I am because I'm buying Anna, one bad experience with an Austrian/German wasn't enough I'm hard headed.

A little strange, but at least it's a little more legitimate than the "rent a scantily-clad caddy" site I've seen advertised...

Yep, that's the spot I've seen linked a few times, Harry. :comp:

I know what I'm getting for my birthday now....assuming I'm still single then....hell even if I'm not.

EDIT: It's a dating site? I thought it was more like a "rental" site...scratch that idea then.

Its like Matchmaker.com but golfing version.

No, caddychicks is a "caddy" service.

The caddies listed on Caddychicks.comâ„¢ are NOT employees of the listed golf courses or Caddychicks.comâ„¢. You are responsible for paying the caddy their fee at the beginning or the end of the round, based on the caddy. You are entering into an agreement with the caddy to pay for her caddy services. Caddychicks.comâ„¢ is not a dating site or an escort service. Any attempt to use this site as such will be grounds for immediate removal from our website.

Although, previous browsing of the site revealed that most of the girls have zero golf experience, so who knows what is going on. Some of the girls even state their preference to drive a cart rather than walk. I think the owners market it as a way for college girls or hopeful models to make some money on the side. I can't imagine that anyone is making any money off the thing unless some of the girls are offering additional services after (during?) the round.

It really displays itself as a dating service almost.

I know. It's weird. It looks like golfers can now add a profile. Maybe they are trying to boost traffic by creating a social-networking type site.
