The Tigers at #5 are closer to the 30th ranked team than the Yankees.

Our payroll went down from last year... haha

A 200 million dollar pay roll. The difference between the Yankees and the Red Sox is still more money than 3-4 teams entire pay roll.

It's getting to the point where I can't even talk about baseball on here without getting harassed about the payroll. Give it a rest. Please.

You choose to root for the Evil Empire you pay the consequences.

As much as I bag on the Yankees about the payroll issue, I still like to watch them play and play well. Jeter is easily my favorite player, the guy is just clutch, even though his fielding is getting worse every year.

Oh, its not that bad. The Yankees have been being bashed since I was a kid.

Gasman, yes the Soup is the opening day starter. YIKES. Not much else to choose from. Gallardo should eventually be the #1 guy. Some fool from Fox Sports picked him for the Cy Young.

Suppan owns a sports bar by my house. I guess he is like a hometown hero. Gallardo should be good, but I dont think he will beat out Santana, Webb or Lincecum for the CY young. How can we get jobs making bad pre season picks?:act-up:

Either that or a weather forecaster. Nothing like getting paid to pull stuff out of your a**. Suppan is a great guy no doubt about that. He's just not an opening day starter. How do you feel about ManRam coming back to the Dodgers? He's one heck of a player when he wants to be.

I think he is what we needed, I just dont know if the rotation will match with last years. We havent had a power bat in a long time. I keep hearing the Brewers mentioned in the Peavy rumors, that would be a nice mid season pick up.

Floppy, what happened to CC?

The Peavy thing has been mentioned but I would be suprised if he wanted to come to Milwaukee. Although Hoffman being here couldn't hurt.

The Royals are in FIRST PLACE! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Forget that news. The best news I heard all night was CC getting shelled in his 1st outing by the freaking O's.

Are they going to get the game in KC in today guys, or is it still snowing?

Edit* Nevermind I guess its in Chicago.

Yeah, he looked bad. I haven't looked it up, but I don't think he had any K's.

I haven't heard yet, pregame comes on in about 20 min. I'm going to try and get out to the course though so I might not see any of it anyway.

Thats what I heard too, I also heard he was scared to throw his fastball. All the New Yorkers are calling in the radio stations today blasting him already. What about Texeria being booed.

As a Brewer fan I want to be mad at CC but he was the MAN when he came to Milwaukee. Gave us the only glimpse of the post season we will ever see.

Gil Meche looked pretty good today, 7 innings 1 run. Too bad Farnsworth blew it for the Royals.

Yeah we are used to it, there went our shot at sitting alone in first place:beat-up: It would have been nice to get to the 9th and let Soria do his thing.

Look at it this way, 161-1 would still be a good record.

I think it was 2003, when they started 9-0 and something like 17-3 and limped home about four games over .500. That was the year that Sweeney got locked in to finish his contract since the stipulation was the Royals would finish above .500 in the first few years of the contract.
